On-screen, Chuck is the perfect TV host—charming, thoughtful, and adored by his audience. Off-camera, he’s anything but. As the owner of the studio, he harasses his female employees while acting friendly and jovial with the men. After a long day of work, the women gather for drinks, venting their frustrations and jokingly imagining ways Chuck could meet his end. They think it’s all harmless fun—until things take an unexpected turn. Fuck Chuck is a fully improvised feature-length film (over 40 minutes, per the Academy’s definition), created as part of a filmmaking challenge where it had to be shot entirely during the live broadcast of the Academy Awards. With no script, no rehearsals, and no second takes, only a rough plot outline guided the process. All dialogue and character dynamics were discovered in real-time. The result is a spontaneous, unpredictable dark comedy that embraces the weird—perfect for the Harrisburg Fringe Festival.
